Digital Strategist

We’re looking for a highly-motivated doer for this position. The Digital Strategist will work with all Collaborative project teams to lead strategic digital content creation across platforms. This position requires digital communications strategy experience as well as fluency in marketing and branding best practices.

This is a full-time position based anywhere in the United States with ability to travel to our Washington, D.C. office. Specific duties below.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:

 The Digital Strategist will:

  • Serve as an integral member of the engagement services team;
  • Develop strategy for and manage digital projects across Collaborative clients, both ideating and implementing tactics that best support our individual clients’ needs;
  • Maintain strong relationships with graphic designers, website developers, UX specialists, and others both in- and out-of-house to ensure top-quality digital products for clients;
  • Actively engage in kick-off meetings, client brainstorming sessions, and other strategy meetings;
  • Work hand-in-hand with the firm’s project managers to ensure that work meets or exceeds goals and is completed on time and on budget; 
  • Be responsible for developing digital communications and strategies, including social media strategies (paid and organic, where appropriate), products, and content that enhance clients’ vital missions. This may include:
    • Social media plans, editorial calendars, and posts
    • E-mail marketing, blog posts, website copy, and other digital content
    • Simple WordPress website builds and landing pages using other digital tools
    • Regular digital metrics reports for clients
    • Stay up-to-speed on key issues across the spectrum of education, to ensure all digital products are relevant and timely; 
    • Help to develop Collaborative digital marketing presence, maintaining the firm’s website and social media properties. 

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of marketing and branding experience, with some experience at a creative agency preferred;
  • At least 3 years of experience working on WordPress;
  • At least 3 years of experience leading content development across digital media, including blog writing, e-newsletters, e-mail marketing, social media, etc.; 
  • Ability to both develop and implement digital and social media strategies across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., as well as new and developing technologies and platforms;
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with external partners at the highest levels of business, government, and the education and social sectors;
  • A can-do attitude, with the drive to get the work done alongside the team, no matter how large or small the task;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Commitment to and strong understanding of the full spectrum of education; and
  • Bilingual skills are a plus. 

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Salary range is 100k to 115k.
