The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards seeks to advance the quality of teaching and learning by developing professional standards for accomplished teaching, creating a voluntary system to certify teachers who meet those standards and integrating certified teachers into educational reform efforts.
Our Relationship
When the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards decided to expand its certification of teachers to the certification of education leaders, it turned to Collaborative. We worked with Web Associates to support the creation of an environmental scan of existing leadership professional development opportunities, state and district licensure and certification efforts, and an analysis of market research.
NBPTS extended the relationship with Collaborative to include the development of a comprehensive operational business plan for the organization’s National Board Certification for Education Leaders, announced in December 2009 and expected to launch in 2011.
